Hotels / b&bs only.
Certainly needed to book them.
Roads are fine really. First 2 hours this morning, there was barely anything about, but the afternoon was a bit busier.
Applecross tomorrow.
Today was Smoo cave And Clashnessie beach. Tea at Ullapool.

Re: Oop north
Today we did Applecross and the Bealach Na Ba
Blimey, the coast road to Applecross was interesting!
Then we encountered a 1/2 hour road closure for resurfacing!
Now chilling near Kyle of Lochalsh

Kyle of Lochalsh was my base when i worked on Ninian Central in Loch Kishorn. Beautiful area. And yes that Applecross Rd has to be done again for me.
Are you having the good weather we are down here?
I did a big tour around North Wales yesterday. About 8 hrs and 300 miles. Sore today.

Re: Oop north
I'm so enjoying all the pictures and I've been following on the map.
How brilliant to have someone to share your adventures with, too.
My only ride out today is to see if the Triumph fairy princess has recovered from it's latest electrical tantrum. If it runs O.K I'll be tryingto get a few miles in. If not, it'll be back home to await my computer genius to comeand connect himself to it and tell it what's what.
Meanwhile I shall continue imagine myself in some of that amazing scenery you're enjoying

Re: Oop north
Sorry I’ve missed a couple of days.
Thursday we did Skye.
Quick diversion to Eileen Donan cast, then over the bridge to Skye.
We stopped at a random bridge, then went to the Fairy Pools. Blimey. Traffic was terrible and the roads were very narrow. Car park was full, but I rode around the bollards and went in anyway. They still wanted their £3!
Chilled there for a bit, then set off for Dunvegan. Stopped to check I was on the right road, when Jess realised she had lost her phone. Back through the traffic to the pools. As we got back to the car park, her comms pinged. Phone was safe in the first aid hut.
Set off again, but they were spraying and gritting the roads, so long, slow trip to Dunvagan. Well worth it, for the cake.
Easy ride over the top, before returning to the hotel. Nipped out for a Chinese, and the hotel lent us plates and cutlery (restaurant shut for the 2 days we were there).
Certainly recommend the Tingle Creek Hotel if you can find it!
