Myself and the present wife had a good idea of a few days away on the bike camping in North Wales until we gathered all the kit together and realised we'd have to become one of those couples with a Pan European with a trailer . ( We've al seen them , colour co-ordinated bike and trailer and wearing matching kit
)
New idea , pack the van and off walking in Snowdonia .

Here in The American Colonies, a couple with matching bike/trailer and gear would almost certainly be riding a Gold Wing.

We also have that breed in the UK . I remember travelling down the M5 motorway (Highway) on the way to catch a ferry from Plymouth when we passed an identical pair of Golwings with identical trailers and they had both put LED running lights round the whole monstrosity . It was pissing down with rain , I was soaked through but seeing them made me laugh all the way to the ferry . P + O staff had the good sense of humour to load them in to the same hold as all the other bikes so we could all giggle at them all the way to France .

Hotels for me!
I did my last tour of Scotland with only my medium sized top box!
(Although I now have some throw over panniers for the NC500 in 2 weeks time)

If I had walking legs I'd be very happy with a camping/walking holiday. Why not, as you can't have your touring holidays at the moment.
I'm going to have to travel a few miles furthe to meet you both for the next breakfast meeting. I may have sold my house, although these things usually don't run smoothly. If it all works out I'll be off to sunny Margate one day later this year.
Top of my shopping list is garage with level drive, followed by large garden. Don't much care about the house. I have several tents to live in if it all goes horribly wrong

Walked around our site a few times at Pitten Cross (Rhosilli, Gower Peninsula.)
Amased at what people carry on a camping holiday. And some of those tents are like mini city's.
2 bikers, BMWs obviously unpacked, set up and looked very comfortable. Next day i watched them pack up. When they rode off you would not believe what they were carrying based on the camp the night before, nothing on display. 2 side panniers, top box and tank bag was all to be seen.
Impressed so i was.

If I could post a picture of my bike packed for two weeks camping,including all my cooking gear and a chair, as well as necessary stuff, you'd be surprised how neat it looks.
My new set up should be even better with a new dry bag that fits exactly across the rear seat and panniers, which should do away with the need for a tank bag. I'm so looking forward to trying it out one day.
