Bikers' Banter

Had to laugh today.

Might have been a tad (!) over the speed limit today, going over a pass on a dual carriageway. I was passed by another bike, doing about 5mph more than me. Then, sudden screaming noise, and a bike flew past me, knee down, his head level with my knee! Where the feck did he come from? Follows by 2 mates.

All of them turned off at the next junction (about 100 m further) to Muro. We carried on, laughing.

Turned off to get on the lanes to Benasau, and guess who we beat to the lanes?!!! I moved over and let them all scream off again!

Had a lovely breakfast as usual. Comes to something when you don’t have to order... he just checked we were having our usual!

Left there, and headed over the tops to Alcoy. Near the top, got passed again by 3 bikes.

Don’t get me wrong, I passed a few things too, but I’m too old to be flying around narrow mountain roads with massive drops on the side!

Loved the scenery between Alcoy and Banyeres. Google it.

Why are they the wrong way up?

Just as we were leaving Benasau, a Spanish chap rushed up to Ed, and asked what he thought about the V-Strom, as he had one too. Then another chap appeared, me too.

Lots of chatting about luggage, long trips (Morocco) add-ons (bars, bags, belly-pans...)

New best friends! The chap insisted on a photo of us all together.

Then we kitted up to leave, and his mate (who was randomly talking to everyone with a megaphone) announced that ‘the girl was getting on her 900cc sports bike’ and the first bloke with the V-Strom freaked out!
He assumed I was on the back of Ed.

Too late mate -I’m gone!

Found a different bar in ontinyent. Sat outside (of course), but had to put our face masks over our drinks to stop the falling seeds landing in them.

Getting Wiser more like ! We Can probably still be a bit crazy but I think we tend to check ourselves a bit more as we get older....... On a slightly different note, We picked one of Sams friends up on Sat, she lives near another couple of old friends that we haven't seen for a few years, Larry walked past when I was waiting outside, He looked like a really old man, had probably had a stroke, was shorter, fatter and in a really bad way...... That hit home as he was always very fit. Just keep doing what you enjoy that's how I see it now........ nice pictures I think !!!!

Last weekend (I missed out as I was showing more time wasters round my house) my racing buddy, Leila went on a rideout with 15 other ladies. It caused a bit of a stir at the local bike meeting place in Rye.
Everything from a classic Harley to a 125 Honda.
Even when it's just the two of us on our Street Triples, it makes people take a second look. I like to think it's the Street Triple's sparkly paint that does it

I was just following a lady on a red and white Striple a few minutes ago.

My bestest favorite road, JJiona? to Alcoy. Some mad bastards along there, especially at weekends.
