It's a good job we have an empty spare Wheely bin ... otherwise the whole contents of our Freezer might have had to be taken to the dump !!!! Interesting aroma after a week being unplugged

I miss my big freezer
It was a wonderful old thing. Over 40 years old and given to me many years ago, but it occurred to me that one woman could probably live with just the new, under counter freezer in the kitchen and that a massive chest freezer as well was really just not on.
And how I miss it. Where else would I store an entire year's fruit and veg crop? Now I'm down sizing I need to get used to thinking smaller. It's the useful odds and ends I miss most, like the frozen wine cubes I like to chuck into a spag. bol. or a stew. The ready rubbed in pastry that just needs a splash of water, the breadcrumbs, the home made ice cream. So many useful things lived in there.
Really must get a grip. It was only a freezer.

I managed to keep things from spoiling by putting crushed or block ice (as available) in the freezer for the 10 days last year we were without electrical power.
