I'm still waiting to see if my German trip is cancelled. I'm supposed to be there in June. I have a date with some Black Forest roads, with my Street Triple.
It was booked for last year, but cancelled because of the virus stuff. Lucky for me, as I still couldn't ride then, so they carried my booking forward a year.
Now not sure if Germany will be open so soon, or even if I'm well enough to do such a long ride by then. If I need more cancer treatment I might be too busy or not feeling up to it.
I have the offer of a pillion seat if I'm too feeble to make it on my own, but the thought of riding those roads on the Striple has got me through many a wobbly moment during the past year.
Fingers crossed. Everything will fall into place. That would be amazing
At least my passport has four years still to run. If I haven't made it by then I'll give up!

Germany didn’t lock down as hard as the UK, but who knows how they will open up again.
I haven’t been for a while, which is very unusual for me. I normally go twice a year (much more when my daughter lived there).
Bob, did you get your jab in Dubai?

NC, no we didn't get the jab. Long story after Shirley spoke to our practice at home. And some complications here.
They are waiting for us as soon as we arrive UK to jab us.
Crack is for Germany i have to get a Neg test here 72 hrs before arriving in Germany. Straight to a hotel of my choosing to isolate (not policed) for 5 day's to then take another test, if neg you are then free to go out and about as normal. Stay in Germany for total 11 days then free to return to UK to go home as Germany is not on the red list (yet). We have been extremely cautious this past year and dodged a few bullets. Of course we will continue to be extra specially cautious. Shirley is fanatical about keeping distance, continually sanitising hands, wipes everything down if shopping, goes well and truly beyond, even pulls me by the ears to do my hands.......again. Face masks washed every time we return home. She carries 3 masks each to use in the day. To date it's worked so i wont knock it.
The whole situation is that we don't want to be forced to isolate in a UK hotel. The hotels we have seen that are allocated are crap. The food they supply is utter crap..........and they are charging a fortune for the "privilege"

Bee, fingers crossed for your run. Fantastic roads. Not ridden them but have drove them many times.
And i love a German sausage.
Work on that fitness bit and all should be fine, as they say here, inshallah.

Hope you get to Germany Mrs.B and if you do , then something to be aware of ......
When I was there a few years ago the road number 500 through the Black Forest (from Baden Baden to Bad Peterstal-Griesbach) was closed to motorbikes at the weekends due to the sheer number of bikes and therefore accidents . Fantastic bit of tarmac with long sweeping bends and nothing to catch you out ; I had so much fun , I turned round and did it again .

Sounds like a good plan Bob.
I know I don’t fancy staying in a Uk ‘5
‘ hotel!

I knew some roads are closed at weekends. I'll make a note of that and bring it up at the next meeting. Some of the others in the club may not know.
If it's anything like our usual midweek ride outs speeding will not be an issue

Was due to go today to book our flight and prison to home for the 9th.
Decided not to. Now again extended to 16th.
Hoping the UK will do one of 2 things, take the UAE off the red list, and/or stop the prison isolation.
Well i can live in hope eh.
So the bike will have to wait a little longer

Oh Bob, it’s all rubbish isn’t it?
I don’t understand why UAE is on the list.
It changes so often it’s hard to keep tabs. Don’t blame Shirley for not wanting to stay in Frankfurt. Dubai has got much more going for it, not least mini Bob
