Got lost

Ontinyent, Banyeres, Alcoy, Penáguila, Benasau, Planes...
Beautiful mountain roads. Perfect weather. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Then got a bit tired/thirsty and decided to turn off, away from Planes. Picked up the wrong road, and ended up in a different village. Ah. If I turn right, down a lane, I can cut off a big corner... Feck! Totally lost (except that I could see the mountain I needed to get over, so I kept heading north). Tiny lanes. Following olive groves and tracks.
Finally ran out of tarmac!
Shit! Hairpin down another lane... where the heck did this main road appear from?!
Look left and right. Lots of traffic on another road on the right. Ah, found the road I was trying to cut through to!
95 miles.
It’s a lardy lump for mountain roads, but still good fun.

Ever heard of a "Sat Nav" or "Google Maps" on your phone. Bee will explain

Sat nav?
Getting lost is part of the fun
As long as you can see the sun/stars, and figure out north!
I wouldn’t have found the giraffes if I hadn’t got lost

My motto when touring abroad is "you can't get lost if you don't know where you're going " .

Quite true. I have said many times my bike rides start off with i don't know where i am going. I purposely get lost. Put the bitch on to get home. Like you NC surprising what you find when lost.

Ha, ha, ha
For a while I actually felt as if I was in charge of the sat-nav. Then it broke and I had a sudden rush of over confidence and bought a brand new one.
Stupidest thing I've ever done. Mind you, my mileage last year must have got several thousand extra miles on the clock. I wish I knew how to make it work properly.
On one ride to Poole harbour I managed to go via Gatwick airport and return home via Brighton. A few hours ride turned into whole day jaunts.....
I'm not convinced it really knows where I live at all. My theory is it just gets lucky now and then.

The route from your home to poole is a nightmare..... No M Ways, some D C Ways and lots of zig zag a roads. I used to work in places like Brighton and I never really found a decent route.

Borrow my sat-nav. It managed to put me on a motorway. That's how it sent me via Gatwick
