Pigles. We are off to Aussy again soon. Had a look on Tripadvisor bout tipping. God how different country's think.
I know you will justify it, don't make it right.

Agreed - no need to tip anyone, unless of course you'll be here the first Tuesday in November and have inside info on the runners in The Cup β¦ in that case, all tips would be gratefully received

Our staff are paid a living wage - no need to tip, ever. If the bill is $98.00 feel free to leave $100, or pay the exact amount - no one will be offended either way. Cafes often have a tip jar near the register - I rarely see anyone put anything in, and I never do.
Credit card print outs often have space to write a tip in - I never do. Please donβt bring your poor wages/tipping culture over here as we donβt need it or want it.
By the way, the price you see on the menu/souvenir/clothing item is the price you pay - taxes are already included in everything in Aus. It makes shopping and dining very simple.
Cheers.

There are a couple of "Free" walking tours in major cities that 'hint' at you paying an amount at the end to the guide. In which case pay what you thought it was worth according to length and quality of the guide's commentary. Maybe AUD$5 to $10.
If you're paying for a tour, why would you pay more than they asked?
Cheers
