Good start

Left last night to head for Eurotunnel , M4 at a standstill round Cardiff for International Kickball game , overnight in Newbury in a double booked hotel. This morning brings the usual chaos on the M25 , only to find the the M20 closed and all traffic for tunnel and ferries diverted through Ashford .
Arrive in France to torrential downpours.
Living the dream !

I could have rushed to your assistance with a flask and sandwiches! And shown you the way through the back lanes, too. I almost went to Ashford earlier on but a sudden downpour made me decide to wait until tomorrow. I need new waterproofs so I knew I'd get wet if I went out.
Hopefully you've got the frustrating stuff out of the way now. Have a good holiday. See you both on your homeward journey

Couldn’t wait until I got back to inform you lot of the road I’ve just ridden in Germany ;
Bad Petersal-Griesbach to Baden Baden through the Black Forest is one of the best .
Twenty degrees and dry roads makes for perfect fun .

To round off the day we found a lovely boutique hotel offering 50% discount on rooms for tonight. Showered , changed and now off to the bar .
