Meeting a mate this morning, for a ride around Shropshire. Get up, ready out for 8 am.
Drop the bike off the stand. Can’t move it. In gear. Nope. Look down... noooo. Back on stand, bloody staple.

Ring mate and cancel, trying to figure out what to do.
Remember I’m in the AA, with all the bells and whistles .
Sure enough chap rocks up within 40 minutes.
But he can’t plug it, it has to go to a tyre shop.
He drops the wheel out, and off we go.
They remove the staple, and there are 2 holes. Not repairable

Locate an exact match in Stoke-on-Trent. AA man takes me there. New tyre fitted.
£171.
£171.
Did you see that? 171 f***** £
Not happy, but pay up.
I paid that for both

Get back and he fits the wheel.
He hasn’t got a **** clue!
He can’t fit the calliper bracket.
I offer him a YouTube video
He finally figures it out, then gets all safety conscious with me. Take it for a ride then I’ll check it again... twice!

Ready to roll, and I head off to The Bog to meet my mate
.
Follow my nose, and end up in a pretty part of Shropshire but no pub or bikes.

Turns out I was in the right place, there was a little café, but they hadn’t got there yet!

That wasn't cheap! Glad you still got out though. It would be a shame to miss the lovely weather because of a puncture.

Absolutely stunning ride back over the tops to Church Stretton.
Wanted to keep stopping to take photos, but thought it wasn’t appropriate!
The heather was in bloom, everything was lush, and the skies were blue.
Beautiful.
Bob, you’d probably enjoy it. Not too far from you.
I’d certainly do it again.
