It's lucky for that bike that I love it so much. It's really trying my patience.

I've never had any bike with such poor electrics. All the bits that usually go wrong have been replaced since I had it and it's not finished with me yet. I'm now waiting for somebody better then me to come and help me trace the latest fault. I could cry. It's so frustrating. I'm fast running out of savings to keep it on the road. I've given it a good talking to and warned it that this behaviour must stop. This is it's last chance.

If I could find another bike that I could manage to ride without hurting myself I'd be seriously considering it. :'-(

Gutted for you.

Nothing more depressing than things that don’t work right 😟

I thought only retro Trumpets were supposed to have electrical problems? :(

Did you know a Bonnie Standard gets rather heavy when you push it 1.2 miles with about 50 feet of elevation gain?

Always my fear about any bike that maybe unreliable and or with issues. I have zero idea how to sort anything mechanical/electrical.
It would have to go pronto.

Hope you get it sorted Bee and don't have to dig too deep to do so.

I didn't realise your street triple was so badly behaved, I hope you will soon run out of things to replace, and normal service is resumed, knowing how well and carefully you maintain your bikes its got to be frustrating
Have you still got the blue kawasaki to fall back on?
My sister is having same kind of car troubles all run of the mill or age related things just one a month, so far this year, its been no trouble for years, she knows it, its been well maintained, to replace it with probably something that could be worse is not a option no funds, so she has invested in the AA for future breakdowns, last time took me two trips to rescue 5 people and 1dog in a 2+2 car

It's been fine for ages but since last June it's been one thing after another.
I do still use the Kawasaki sometimes but I can't do long distances or use it every day. The Striple has been set up to suit my Hypermobility problems and I just can't get the Kawasaki comfortable enough to use very often. This was the reason my Harley had to go. We could never get it quite right for me.
The Striple is the only thing I've ever had that I can ride in comfort and besides that it's so much fun! I'm always on the look out for anything else that might replace it one day but so far nothing has been quite right. I think I only have a couple of years riding left in me and I hoped it was going to last until I had to give up.

Today I've been learning how to use a test meter to find out what the problem is so as soon as the temperature drops below a million degrees I'll be putting it into practice. I'm learning how to do more and more myself but I'd rather it just kept working and I didn't have to learn so much.

Here the heat index has been between 35°C and 40°C during the day.

Same here but we're not used to it. A proper storm overhead now, but still very warm. It's down to 31 indoors at the moment. I have made myself a cold water bottle. No idea if it will help but it's been in the freezer for an hour, so nicely chilled, ready for bed time :)
