Did they use a lot of scaffolding?

Surprisingly little, spose that's why 16 people died on the construction, mostly from falling.
This day and age with health and safety it would be encased in scaffolding.

Looks like a great trip and I am jealous, lady I used to work with was recently made redundant, her husband bought them five weeks in Australia one week staying with her brother she's not seen in years four weeks touring, I say see he's not so bad after all, she frequently complains about him, she says I'm missing five Liverpool matches to go, she really didn't want to leave work, she's clearly a bit nuts, but is now looking forward to it

Hope your both having a great time

Sarah, been to Aussy several times. Love it and all things Aussy. They have a sense of humour, they speak our language (sort of, but better than the yanks, and it's NOT compulsory to tip), they have half decent beers, great weather most of the time, roads with nowt on them, Some of the best beaches in the woooorrrrld. Some of the best scenery in the world. I have driven at 120 Ks per hr and not seen another vehicle for 20 mins. For gods sake whats not to like.
Driving the Nullabor Plains from Sunday 1,500Ks of NOTHING. My idea of heaven (in a perverse sort of way). One section is a 90 miles long straight and flat, it's in the GBR. Google it.
Anyway, like cruising, not to all tastes.
