Bikers' Banter

I much preferred my solid fuel Aga I had friends whose Mother still cooked on a very old Rayburn and she taught me all about which sorts of wood are best for which job. Small ovens, but I hadn't progressed to the stage of cooking for 20 at a time in those days.
Not sure there's enough hours in the day to be collecting fuel and making faggots any more, so I'd probably stick with mains gas.
Did you know that mains gas is hotter then bottled? I'm sure you'll be adding that to your list of sayings, but it does seem to be a fiercer heat some how.
And, Nev, don't worry. I have never been in a kitchen showroom and don't think I'll start now. I'd ask your advice first if I decide I'll change any of it. For now I'm lowering the tone of the kitchen by adding some very blingy multicoloured tile stickers to soothe my inner hatred of the kitchen. Not everywhere. Just something here and there to make me smile.

Forgot to ask. Do any of your customers ask for really naff, rustic floor tiles the colour of blue/grey with a good spattering of cat vomit? Asking for a friend.....

The Mains V's LPG thing i've know for years having once installed and sold various products..... and the Butane on those camping stoves burns differently too !!!...... Oh and How much do you want for the tiles ?

I remember buying the floor tiles for my kitchen in Spain.
Asked the price times.
It's a while back, but i think it came to £20 for the room.
And by some miracle, the tiles fit so well, Ed hardly had to make any cuts.

In the DIY shop this week.
Ed; i want to fit a bigger sink in the kitchen.
Me: (WTAF) why?
Ed: mutter mutter
Me; what do you actually need to put in the sink that doesn't fit? (We have a dishwasher)
Ed: i can't fill a bucket properly.
Me: that is the tap, not the sink. If we had a taller tap, then you could fill a bucket. However, if we had a taller tap, then we wouldn't be able to open the kitchen window, which is why the tap is the height it is.

He could fit a hot tap in the sink in the garage, and then fill a bucket...

I guess the easy answer is to use a smaller Bucket...

I think most of our buckets have holes. Or broken handles.

Maybe time to buy some new (smaller) ones

One of the things I miss about the marsh is buckets. You can do so many things with a bucket
John and I used to joke that ones social status depended on how many buckets one owned

In this house, the "B" is replaced with an "F"......... we have many many of them !
