Despite their reputation, my F 800 GT has worked properly straight out of the box.

Everyone tells me Euro 5 causes a lot of issues.... I was reading about the new Triumph Speed Triple 1200RS, It seems to have a jerky Throttle too...... The MT09 I took out a few weeks back had it as well. This Z900 problem may go away completely if it's an ECU issue...... They will be fitting a new one today so I live in hope !

I hope it works! I couldn't live with less then perfection, although with my fast action throttle there can be jerking if I'm not careful on rough roads or spotting potholes in time.
It all gets very exciting, but not necessarily fun when that happens. (See my previous post about hanging Street Triples on security fencing.......)

The first bike I ever experienced this Throttle Jerking on was an 07 FZ1000, like Brigette's ... It was horrible and I just didn't want to ride it.... I believe that it only affected a few and Yamaha did sort it all out though..... Tried an MT10 a few years ago, that was similar and no better than my 09...... It just seems that Modern stuff has this issue as standard now or from what I read and have experienced but this Z900 is dangerous especially in corners...... Surging and letting off all on it's own. Fingers crossed, I'm still waiting for a call.

Anyway, don't know if i am in the right thread now, but

Lovely long ride today. About 150 miles in and around The Peak District. Fantastic scenery................on a par with your manor Nev.
I actually went to a new classic car museum in Belper. Cars mostly from 50s 60s and 70s, smashing museum. Crap sausage butty though.

I can avoid the off-on throttle jerk on Ms. Bonnie if I rotate the throttle grip at about the same rate as the second hand sweeps on an old-fashioned analog clock.

I seem to be very lucky as I've never had a bike with throttle problems. It must be SO frustrating!
The Street Triple is the only one I've had to play with, but it's because of my wonky joints, not the bike.
It now has a throttle tube from a 1050 Speed Triple fitted (I think. It was done a long time ago) which means the bike goes from stand still to flat out in a quarter of a turn
Scary stuff if I don't stay aware of what I'm doing, especially with the light front end. It can be fun, but not when turning right at junctions :D
Worth it though. I can't over about 55 mph without grabbing a second handful of throttle. Too tiring!

A lot of the latest bikes have the same issue.... It's all to do with emissions... every new bike I've tested is the same.... my older bikes were fine..... but even the two Busa's would give a little cough at low revs...... Having now ridden the Z for a couple of hundred miles, I feel it is still twitchy at steady revs but nothing at all like it was before...... Having a quarter turn throttle sounds pretty scary ..... :-o
