Been done

Post by bobsnicholson »

Decided to beat the insurance rip off by getting quotes for the bike. The AA came in best at £101.75p so i confirmed and paid.
Last year i was with Bennetts. Me being a smart arse thought they will up their premium for this year so didn't wait, bastards sent the renewal quote £100.50p, gutted, lost £1.25p.
I will wait next year before i jump the gun. :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-(

Gordon Bennett

I'm with the AA for the bike. Had to make a claim with them years ago on the house, and they were brilliant. Well worth the £1.25

Bad luck, bob. I waited for mine (also with Bennett's). Every year since I had my accident they have got cheaper, so I stuck with them as I can't be bothered to hunt about and then start telling them all I had a no fault claim etc. and send proof of no claims and all the other rubbish they all seem to want. This years quote came and it was nearly £800! I was on the phone within seconds. I was really angry with them, they apologised and said they couldn't understand how it happened and then I paid them £5 less then last year, so all friends again now. I really think they make it up as they go along and none of them can be trusted.
I liked the old days when I would go and sit in the brokers office with a cup of coffee while they rang lots of people up for me and worked out what would be cheapest. Much more civilised.

I still use a broker for the car insurance. Much easier.

Tinternet, compare sites, Certificate of insurance, a legal requirement, get that piece of paper as cheaply as you can, because the arsoles that provided it will do everything in their power NOT to pay out. AND, when/if they do you pay the excess, you lose x years NCD, your premium goes up for next year (even if you have it protected) and all other manor of how they will "get their money back", FACT'S.
They should all be jailed.

Bennett's were very surprised when I said I wasn't going to pay my excess. I pointed out that my paperwork said voluntary excess payable, and I thought it only fair that the other insurance company should be the ones who paid. I don't think anyone had ever said no before. Nothing they could do about it though and I didn't have to pay. I noticed that since then the word voluntary has been missing from my insurance documents. :)
