Changed my mind after searching for digs.
In Scotland it's either no vacancies, i don't like the look of that, or, how much!!!
So booked 3 nights just outside Exeter in a newly done up Premier Inn with a Beefeater attached. Gonna do a few runs around Devon & Cornwall as i did a couple of years ago. Enjoyed those few days.
NC500 maybe next year in the MH.

Re: Not Scotland
Understand your thinking
I booked up well ahead so was ok for pricing. Couldn’t find anything near Durness, so stayed at the Bettyhill Hotel, which was fabulous.
Have fun down south.

If it ain't fun, don't do it
Re: Not Scotland
I have a few things going on next week but will try to sort some time. Where you are staying is very close to a number of Posh car dealers, Ferrari, Porsche to name a couple plus Bridge Motorcycles with a great cafe selling really good food, all worth a look and all on the Marsh Barton Estate not far from you. There's a nice road to Tiverton that passes through Bickleigh which has a love old Inn next to a really old Bridge which was the one in Simon and Garfunkle's song "bridge over troubled water". From Tiverton you can take a number or roads but I would head to Dulverton. Exford, up onto Exmoor to Porlock then along the coast to Lynton and lynmouth, it can be a bit twisty and steep at times but it's not too bad and the views are stunning especially along the coast with really fast roads too. If you carried on into North Devon you have some great towns and Seaside, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Croyde, Saunton are all nice with great coastal views and lots of Ice Creams !!!! Have a gander on Google, also search Valley of the rocks at Lynton....... I know you did the South last time but the North is just fantastic.bobsnicholson wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 6:49 pm As would i love to meet up.

Re: Not Scotland
Oh and North Cornwall is great too, there is a road called the Atlantic Highway which takes you into along some lovely roads and there are places to visit like Bude (which I think you went to last time for a pasty !) Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow then you can head back via Dartmoor.
Ok, I confess.......

Great. Gives me a list of places to go, things to do look at etc.
Yes i remember the pasty in Bude was the best.
Names of places mentioned all sound familiar and i remember them being great.
Will do.

Re: Not Scotland
I did do some of the North also if you remember. Lynton, Porlock and others. Loved it.
When we came down in the MH we hired a car and did other places like Porlock Weir.
Loved it and another reason i binned Scotland (and they talk funny up there )

Re: Not Scotland
Yes I remember now ! Probably better to do the bit from Barnstaple to Braunton, Saunton, Croyde and on to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe then.... just a suggestion oh and back in 1988 I set a time of 34 minutes from Barnstaple Clock to Exeter St Davids Clock on my FJ1200.... not sure if you'd beat that !!!!
Ok, I confess.......

Re: Not Scotland
Just been sorting my first day tour. It's gonna be
Hotel to Bickleigh, to Dulverton, to Porlock Weir, to Bude, back to Hotel. Good run and a full day of having a look see.
Your latest suggestions i will do the google now.
Need to find time to look at Bridge Honda, it's only a couple of mins on the bike from the hotel (i know i googled it )
Thanks for the tips, always helpful.
