Up before 5am as normal.
On the road heading north by 6.15am.
This Hardknott bug has to be sorted.
Arrived from the opposite to you Brig (as it turns out)
Screen down to lowest point, sun glasses off, I want to see where i'm falling, air hawk in the boot, need as much leg as i haven't got. And off i go and start climbing, up, up. It's wet but not raining.
Very little traffic. Didn't come across anyone in front of me for the whole Hardnott and Wynose??? passes, but a number of cars came towards me. Like Brig said plenty of spaces to pass so no probs.
It's a bit hairy in parts, some very steep hairpin switchbacks but all in all taking ones time and concentrating it's all pretty uneventful.
Stopped several times just to take in the scenery and a photo or 2.
I did walk up to the Roman Fort for what it's worth.
At the bottom i had tea and toast in Hardknott Cafe, aka Woolpack. It was only later did i come across The George.
All in all, a bit scary at first but soon settled and enjoyed the ride.
I think every biker should do these passes once in their riding lifetime.
Now lets see if i can get some pics up.

Brilliant
Can't believe you've done it so quickly If only I didn't have to go to work!
Brilliant photos. That one at the junction makes me chuckle... chap in a very nice (long) merc - Is that road passable? - Yes, lots of passing places, you'll be fine (snicker, snicker)
Glad you enjoyed it. I know I will certainly be back.
Well done sir.
